The English version of the collection "Velké šelmy a migrační koridory v Západních Karpatech" summarizes the preliminary results from the joint project of Friends of the Earth Czech Republic and Fatra Mountain Association (SK), realized between years 2011-2012. It includes several papers focused on large carnivore monitoring, distribution, habitat requirements, road permeability, traffic mortality and exploitation of wildlife corridors at the edge of the West Carpathians.
The publication should help municipalities, nature conservation authorities, experts and interested public with the creation of new spatial plans and with the evaluation of various development plans including new road and railway infrastructure.
